Psalm 18:4-6

New International Version

⁴ The cords of death^(A) entangled me;
    the torrents^(B) of destruction overwhelmed me.
⁵ The cords of the grave coiled around me;
    the snares of death^(C) confronted me.

⁶ In my distress^(D) I called to the Lord;^(E)
    I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;^(F)
    my cry came^(G) before him, into his ears.
