Psalm 125
A song of ascents.
1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,(A)
which cannot be shaken(B) but endures forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,(C)
so the Lord surrounds(D) his people
both now and forevermore.
3 The scepter(E) of the wicked will not remain(F)
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use
their hands to do evil.(G)
4 Lord, do good(H) to those who are good,
to those who are upright in heart.(I)
5 But those who turn(J) to crooked ways(K)
the Lord will banish(L) with the evildoers.

A Song of Ascents.
125 Those who trust in the Lord
Are like Mount Zion,
Which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
So the Lord surrounds His people
From this time forth and forever.
3 For (A)the scepter of wickedness shall not rest
On the land allotted to the righteous,
Lest the righteous reach out their hands to iniquity.
4 Do good, O Lord, to those who are good,
And to those who are upright in their hearts.
5 As for such as turn aside to their (B)crooked ways,
The Lord shall lead them away
With the workers of iniquity.

Gottes Schutz umgibt sein Volk
125 Ein Wallfahrtslied.
Die auf den Herrn vertrauen,
sind wie der Berg Zion, der nicht wankt,
sondern ewiglich bleibt.
2 Um Jerusalem her sind Berge,
und der Herr ist um sein Volk her
von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.
3 Denn das Zepter der Ungerechtigkeit wird nicht auf dem Erbteil der Gerechten bleiben,
auf daß die Gerechten ihre Hände nicht ausstrecken zur Ungerechtigkeit.
4 Herr, tue wohl den Guten und denen,
die redlichen Herzens sind!
5 Die aber abweichen auf ihre krummen Wege,
lasse der Herr abführen mit den Übeltätern!
Friede über Israel!

125 They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.
3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.
4 Do good, O Lord, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.
5 As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the Lord shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.
