A prayer of Moses the man of God.

Lord, you have been our dwelling-place
    throughout all generations.

    consider the generations long past.
Ask your father and he will tell you,
    your elders, and they will explain to you.

The day is near

11 And do this, understanding the present time: the hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of light.

‘In the time of my favour I heard you,
    and in the day of salvation I helped you.’[a]

I tell you, now is the time of God’s favour, now is the day of salvation.
