126 When the Lord brought back [a]the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream. 2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the [b]nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” 3 The Lord has done great things for us, And we are glad.
4 Bring back our captivity, O Lord, As the streams in the South.
5 Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy. 6 He who continually goes [c]forth weeping, Bearing [d]seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again [e]with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him.
128 Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways.
2 When you eat the [a]labor of your hands, You shall be happy, and it shall bewell with you. 3 Your wife shall belike a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants All around your table. 4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the Lord.
5 The Lord bless you out of Zion, And may you see the good of Jerusalem All the days of your life. 6 Yes, may you see your children’s children.
129 “Many a time they have afflicted[a] me from my youth,” Let Israel now say— 2 “Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth; Yet they have not prevailed against me. 3 The plowers plowed on my back; They made their furrows long.” 4 The Lordis righteous; He has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked.
5 Let all those who hate Zion Be put to shame and turned back. 6 Let them be as the grass on the housetops, Which withers before it grows up, 7 With which the reaper does not fill his hand, Nor he who binds sheaves, his [b]arms. 8 Neither let those who pass by them say, “The blessing of the Lordbe upon you; We bless you in the name of the Lord!”
132 Lord, remember David And all his afflictions; 2 How he swore to the Lord, And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob: 3 “Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house, Or go up to the comfort of my bed; 4 I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids, 5 Until I find a place for the Lord, A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
6 Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; We found it in the fields of [a]the woods. 7 Let us go into His tabernacle; Let us worship at His footstool. 8 Arise, O Lord, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength. 9 Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, And let Your saints shout for joy.
10 For Your servant David’s sake, Do not turn away the face of Your [b]Anointed.
11 The Lord has sworn in truth to David; He will not turn from it: “I will set upon your throne the [c]fruit of your body. 12 If your sons will keep My covenant And My testimony which I shall teach them, Their sons also shall sit upon your throne forevermore.”
13 For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His [d]dwelling place: 14 “Thisis My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it. 15 I will abundantly bless her [e]provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread. 16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation, And her saints shall shout aloud for joy. 17 There I will make the [f]horn of David grow; I will prepare a lamp for My [g]Anointed. 18 His enemies I will clothe with shame, But upon Himself His crown shall flourish.”
147 Praise[a] the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, andpraise is beautiful.
2 The Lordbuilds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. 3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their [b]wounds. 4 He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. 5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. 6 The Lord lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked down to the ground.
7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; Sing praises on the harp to our God, 8 Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who prepares rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains. 9 He gives to the beast its food, Andto the young ravens that cry.
10 He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. 11 The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy.
12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! 13 For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your children within you. 14 He makes peace in your borders, Andfills you with [c]the finest wheat.
15 He sends out His command to the earth; His word runs very swiftly. 16 He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes; 17 He casts out His hail like [d]morsels; Who can stand before His cold? 18 He sends out His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow.
19 He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel. 20 He has not dealt thus with any nation; And as for His judgments, they have not known them.
Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise in the assembly of saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. 3 Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp. 4 For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the [b]humble with salvation.
5 Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, 7 To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples; 8 To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute on them the written judgment— This honor have all His saints.
