119 ^[a] Blessed are those whose ^(A)way is blameless,
    who ^(B)walk in the law of the Lord!
²Blessed are those who ^(C)keep his ^(D)testimonies,
    who ^(E)seek him with their whole heart,
³who also ^(F)do no wrong,
    but walk in his ways!
⁴You have commanded your ^(G)precepts
    to be kept diligently.
⁵Oh that my ways may ^(H)be steadfast
    in keeping your statutes!
⁶^(I)Then I shall not be put to shame,
    having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
⁷I will praise you with an upright heart,
    when I learn ^(J)your righteous rules.^[b]
⁸I will keep your statutes;
    ^(K)do not utterly forsake me!

26 Now there was a famine in the land, besides ^(A)the former famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Gerar to ^(B)Abimelech king of the ^(C)Philistines. ²And the Lord appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; dwell ^(D)in the land of which I shall tell you. ³^(E)Sojourn in this land, and ^(F)I will be with you and will bless you, for ^(G)to you and to your offspring I will give all these lands, and I will establish ^(H)the oath that I swore to Abraham your father. ⁴^(I)I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And ^(J)in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, ⁵because ^(K)Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”

¹²^(A)Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive ^(B)the crown of life, ^(C)which God has promised to those who love him. ¹³Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. ¹⁴But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. ¹⁵Then desire ^(D)when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and ^(E)sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
