23 Then Israel entered Egypt;(A)
    Jacob resided(B) as a foreigner in the land of Ham.(C)
24 The Lord made his people very fruitful;
    he made them too numerous(D) for their foes,
25 whose hearts he turned(E) to hate his people,
    to conspire(F) against his servants.
26 He sent Moses(G) his servant,
    and Aaron,(H) whom he had chosen.(I)
27 They performed(J) his signs(K) among them,
    his wonders(L) in the land of Ham.
28 He sent darkness(M) and made the land dark—
    for had they not rebelled against(N) his words?
29 He turned their waters into blood,(O)
    causing their fish to die.(P)
30 Their land teemed with frogs,(Q)
    which went up into the bedrooms of their rulers.
31 He spoke,(R) and there came swarms of flies,(S)
    and gnats(T) throughout their country.
32 He turned their rain into hail,(U)
    with lightning throughout their land;
33 he struck down their vines(V) and fig trees(W)
    and shattered the trees of their country.
34 He spoke,(X) and the locusts came,(Y)
    grasshoppers(Z) without number;(AA)
35 they ate up every green thing in their land,
    ate up the produce of their soil.
36 Then he struck down all the firstborn(AB) in their land,
    the firstfruits of all their manhood.
37 He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold,(AC)
    and from among their tribes no one faltered.
38 Egypt was glad when they left,
    because dread of Israel(AD) had fallen on them.

39 He spread out a cloud(AE) as a covering,
    and a fire to give light at night.(AF)
40 They asked,(AG) and he brought them quail;(AH)
    he fed them well with the bread of heaven.(AI)
41 He opened the rock,(AJ) and water gushed out;
    it flowed like a river in the desert.

42 For he remembered his holy promise(AK)
    given to his servant Abraham.
43 He brought out his people with rejoicing,(AL)
    his chosen ones with shouts of joy;
44 he gave them the lands of the nations,(AM)
    and they fell heir to what others had toiled(AN) for—
45 that they might keep his precepts
    and observe his laws.(AO)

Praise the Lord.[a](AP)

  1. Psalm 105:45 Hebrew Hallelu Yah

23 Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.

24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.

26 He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.

27 They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.

28 He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.

29 He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.

30 Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.

31 He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.

32 He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.

33 He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.

34 He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,

35 And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.

36 He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.

37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.

39 He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.

40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.
