³ He shall be like a tree
^(A)Planted by the ^[a]rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall ^(B)prosper.

⁸ For he shall be ^(A)like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not ^[a]fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

¹⁶ The trees of the Lord are full of sap,
The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,

⁵ I will be like the ^(A)dew to Israel;
He shall ^[a]grow like the lily,
And ^[b]lengthen his roots like Lebanon.
⁶ His branches shall ^[c]spread;
^(B)His beauty shall be like an olive tree,
And ^(C)his fragrance like Lebanon.

⁶ Like valleys that stretch out,
Like gardens by the riverside,
^(A)Like aloes ^(B)planted by the Lord,
Like cedars beside the waters.

²² They shall not build and another inhabit;
They shall not plant and ^(A)another eat;
For ^(B)as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people,
And ^(C)My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
