³⁵ Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

¹¹ The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

¹⁷ Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

¹³ For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

² In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

² The Lord God hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

⁷ The Lord hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.

⁴ The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
