A Call to Worship and Obedience

⁴² Again he went away for the second time and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.”^(A)

¹⁷ Jesus said to her, “Do not touch me, because I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”^(A)

⁴¹ So they took away the stone. And Jesus looked upward and said, “Father, I thank you for having heard me.^(A)

⁴⁶ Then Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” Having said this, he breathed his last.^(A)

³⁴ At three o’clock Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”^[a](A)
