¹⁴ As fire consumes the forest
    or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,^(A)

²² For a fire will be kindled by my wrath,^(A)
    one that burns down to the realm of the dead below.^(B)
It will devour^(C) the earth and its harvests^(D)
    and set afire the foundations of the mountains.^(E)

¹⁸ Surely wickedness burns like a fire;^(A)
    it consumes briers and thorns,^(B)
it sets the forest thickets ablaze,^(C)
    so that it rolls upward in a column of smoke.

¹⁰ They will be entangled among thorns^(A)
    and drunk^(B) from their wine;
    they will be consumed like dry stubble.^[a](C)

64 ^[a]Oh, that you would rend the heavens^(A) and come down,^(B)
    that the mountains^(C) would tremble before you!
² As when fire sets twigs ablaze
    and causes water to boil,
come down to make your name^(D) known to your enemies
    and cause the nations to quake^(E) before you!

¹¹ You conceive^(A) chaff,
    you give birth^(B) to straw;
    your breath is a fire^(C) that consumes you.
¹² The peoples will be burned to ashes;^(D)
    like cut thornbushes^(E) they will be set ablaze.^(F)”
