²⁹ The fear of God came on all the kingdoms of the countries when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.^{(A) 30} And the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.^(B)

¹³ Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.^(A)

²⁰ the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and the animals of the field and all creeping things that creep on the ground and all humans who are on the face of the earth shall quake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground.^{(A) 21} I will summon the sword against Gog^[a] in^[b] all my mountains, says the Lord God; the swords of all will be against their comrades.^{(B) 22} With pestilence and bloodshed I will enter into judgment with him, and I will pour down torrential rains and hailstones, fire and sulfur upon him and his troops and the many peoples who are with him.^{(C) 23} So I will display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.^(D)

Sennacherib’s Defeat and Death

²⁰ Then King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz prayed because of this and cried to heaven.^{(A) 21} And the Lord sent an angel who cut off all the mighty warriors and commanders and officers in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned in disgrace to his own land. When he came into the house of his god, some of his own sons struck him down there with the sword.^{(B) 22} So the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of King Sennacherib of Assyria and from the hand of all his enemies; he gave them rest^[a] on every side.
