Jesus Warns of Offenses^(A)

^6 (B)“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. ⁷ Woe to the world because of ^[a]offenses! For ^(C)offenses must come, but ^(D)woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of ^(A)darkness into His marvelous light;

²¹ It is good neither to eat ^(A)meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles ^[a]or is offended or is made weak.

¹⁵ Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. ^(A)Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died.

²⁴ No, my sons! For it is not a good report that I hear. You make the Lord’s people transgress.
