¹² The grasslands of the wilderness overflow;^(A)
    the hills are clothed with gladness.^(B)

²⁶ to water^(A) a land where no one lives,
    an uninhabited desert,^(B)
27 to satisfy a desolate wasteland
    and make it sprout with grass?^(C)

¹⁰ He makes springs^(A) pour water into the ravines;
    it flows between the mountains.
¹¹ They give water^(B) to all the beasts of the field;
    the wild donkeys^(C) quench their thirst.
¹² The birds of the sky^(D) nest by the waters;
    they sing among the branches.^(E)
13 He waters the mountains^(F) from his upper chambers;^(G)
    the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.^(H)

²²     Do not be afraid, you wild animals,
    for the pastures in the wilderness are becoming green.^(A)
The trees are bearing their fruit;
    the fig tree^(B) and the vine^(C) yield their riches.^(D)

¹⁰ I delight greatly in the Lord;
    my soul rejoices^(A) in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
    and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,^(B)
as a bridegroom adorns his head^(C) like a priest,
    and as a bride^(D) adorns herself with her jewels.
¹¹ For as the soil makes the sprout come up
    and a garden^(E) causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness^(F)
    and praise spring up before all nations.

⁹ “As the heavens are higher than the earth,^(A)
    so are my ways higher than your ways
    and my thoughts than your thoughts.^(B)
10 As the rain^(C) and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,^(D)
    so that it yields seed^(E) for the sower and bread for the eater,^(F)
11 so is my word^(G) that goes out from my mouth:
    It will not return to me empty,^(H)
but will accomplish what I desire
    and achieve the purpose^(I) for which I sent it.
¹² You will go out in joy^(J)
    and be led forth in peace;^(K)
the mountains and hills
    will burst into song^(L) before you,
and all the trees^(M) of the field
    will clap their hands.^(N)
13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
    and instead of briers^(O) the myrtle^(P) will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,^(Q)
    for an everlasting sign,
    that will endure forever.”
