⁵ May we shout for joy over your victory
    and in the name of our God set up our banners.
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.^(A)

5 Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem,
    look around and take note!
Search its squares and see
    if you can find one person
who acts justly
    and seeks truth—
so that I may pardon Jerusalem.^[a](A)
2 Although they say, “As the Lord lives,”
    yet they swear falsely.^(B)
3 O Lord, do your eyes not look for truth?
You have struck them,
    but they felt no anguish;
you have consumed them,
    but they refused to take correction.
They have made their faces harder than rock;
    they have refused to turn back.^(C)

¹⁹ So those in the west shall fear the name of the Lord,
    and those in the east, his glory,
for he will come like a pent-up stream
    that the wind of the Lord drives on.^(A)

¹⁴ Justice is turned back,
    and deliverance stands at a distance,
for truth stumbles in the public square,
    and uprightness cannot enter.^(A)
15 Truth is lacking,
    and whoever turns from evil is despoiled.
