The Seven Trumpets

Now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to blow them.

The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed (A)hail and (B)fire, mixed with blood, and these were thrown upon the earth. And a (C)third of the earth was burned up, and a third of (D)the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.

The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like (E)a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea (F)became blood. A third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of (G)the ships were destroyed.

10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and (H)a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on (I)the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood.[a] A third of the waters (J)became wormwood, and many people died from the water, (K)because it had been made bitter.

12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of (L)the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light might be darkened, and a third of the day might be kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night.

13 Then I looked, and I heard an eagle crying with a loud voice as it flew directly overhead, (M)“Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, at the blasts of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!”

The Ascension

So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, (D)will you at this time (E)restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, (F)“It is not for you to know (G)times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive (H)power (I)when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and (J)you will be (K)my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and (L)Samaria, and (M)to the end of the earth.” And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, (N)he was lifted up, and (O)a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, (P)two (Q)men stood by them in (R)white robes, 11 and said, (S)“Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? The Silver Trumpets

10 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Make two silver trumpets. Of hammered work you shall make them, and you shall use them for (A)summoning the congregation and for breaking camp. And when (B)both are blown, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the entrance of the tent of meeting. But if they blow only one, then (C)the chiefs, the heads of the tribes of Israel, shall gather themselves to you. When you blow an alarm, (D)the camps that are on the east side shall set out. And when you blow an alarm the second time, (E)the camps that are on the south side shall set out. An alarm is to be blown whenever they are to set out. But when the assembly is to be gathered together, (F)you shall blow a long blast, but you shall not (G)sound an alarm. (H)And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets. The trumpets shall be to you for a perpetual statute throughout your generations. And (I)when you go to war in your land against the adversary who (J)oppresses you, then you shall (K)sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be (L)remembered before the Lord your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies. 10 (M)On the day of your gladness also, and at your appointed feasts and (N)at the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings. They shall be (O)a reminder of you before your God: I am the Lord your God.”
