¹⁸ The Lord is near^(A) to all who call on him,^(B)
    to all who call on him in truth.

⁹ The Lord is a refuge^(A) for the oppressed,^(B)
    a stronghold in times of trouble.^(C)

⁷ My salvation and my honor depend on God^[a];
    he is my mighty rock, my refuge.^(A)
8 Trust in him at all times, you people;^(B)
    pour out your hearts to him,^(C)
    for God is our refuge.

¹⁰ The name of the Lord is a fortified tower;^(A)
    the righteous run to it and are safe.^(B)

³ Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare^(E)
    and from the deadly pestilence.^(F)
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;^(G)
    his faithfulness will be your shield^(H) and rampart.
⁵ You will not fear^(I) the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
⁶ nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
⁷ A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
⁸ You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.^(J)

⁹ If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,

¹¹ The Lord Almighty is with us;
    the God of Jacob^(A) is our fortress.^(B)

⁵ I cry to you, Lord;
    I say, “You are my refuge,^(A)
    my portion^(B) in the land of the living.”^(C)
