³⁴ Hope in the Lord^(A)
    and keep his way.^(B)
He will exalt you to inherit the land;
    when the wicked are destroyed,^(C) you will see^(D) it.

¹⁴ Wait^(A) for the Lord;
    be strong^(B) and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.

²² Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!”^(A)
    Wait for the Lord, and he will avenge you.^(B)

⁹ For those who are evil will be destroyed,^(A)
    but those who hope^(B) in the Lord will inherit the land.^(C)

⁵ Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin:
    He will snatch you up and pluck^(A) you from your tent;
    he will uproot^(B) you from the land of the living.^(C)
6 The righteous will see and fear;
    they will laugh^(D) at you, saying,

⁷ Be still^(A) before the Lord
    and wait patiently^(B) for him;
do not fret^(C) when people succeed in their ways,^(D)
    when they carry out their wicked schemes.^(E)

¹⁰ But he knows the way that I take;^(A)
    when he has tested me,^(B) I will come forth as gold.^(C)
11 My feet have closely followed his steps;^(D)
    I have kept to his way without turning aside.^(E)
12 I have not departed from the commands of his lips;^(F)
    I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.^(G)
