⁵ Look to him, and be radiant,
    so your^[a] faces shall never be ashamed.^(A)

¹ To you I lift up my eyes,
    O you who are enthroned in the heavens!^(A)
2 As the eyes of servants
    look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a maid
    to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the Lord our God,
    until he has mercy upon us.^(B)

³ Do not let those who wait for you be put to shame;
    let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.^(A)

²⁸ It is you who light my lamp;
    the Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.^(A)

⁹ For with you is the fountain of life;
    in your light we see light.^(A)

⁵ Then you shall see and be radiant;
    your heart shall thrill and rejoice,^[a]
because the abundance of the sea shall be brought to you;
    the wealth of the nations shall come to you.^(A)

¹¹ Light dawns^[a] for the righteous
    and joy for the upright in heart.^(A)
