⁴⁴ As soon as they heard of me they obeyed me;
    ^(A)foreigners ^(B)came cringing to me.

¹⁵ Those who hate the Lord would ^(A)cringe toward him,
    and their fate would last forever.

³ Say to God, ^(A)“How awesome are your deeds!
    So great is your power that your enemies ^(B)come cringing to you.

²⁹ Happy are you, O Israel! ^(A)Who is like you,
    a people ^(B)saved by the Lord,
^(C)the shield of your help,
    and the sword of your triumph!
Your enemies shall come fawning to you,
    and you shall tread upon their backs.”

⁸ The Lord has sworn ^(A)by his right hand
    and by his mighty arm:
“I will not again give ^(B)your grain
    to be food for your enemies,
^(C)and foreigners shall not drink your wine
    for which you have labored;

³⁰ Rebuke ^(A)the beasts that dwell among the reeds,
    the herd of ^(B)bulls with the calves of the peoples.
^(C)Trample underfoot those who lust after tribute;
    scatter the peoples who delight in war.^[a]
