⁷ Stretch out Your hand from above;
Rescue me and deliver me out of great waters,
From the hand of foreigners,

⁵ The ^(A)waters surrounded me, even to my soul;
The deep closed around me;
Weeds were wrapped around my head.
⁶ I went down to the ^[a]moorings of the mountains;
The earth with its bars closed behind me forever;
Yet You have brought up my ^(B)life from the pit,
O Lord, my God.

^3 (A)He shall send from heaven and save me;
He reproaches the one who ^[a]would swallow me up. Selah
God ^(B)shall send forth His mercy and His truth.

40 I ^(B)waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
² He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of ^(C)the miry clay,
And ^(D)set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.

Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.
