Psalm 110

Of David. A psalm.

¹² But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins,^(A) he sat down at the right hand of God,^{(B) 13} and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.^(C)

²⁵ For he must reign^(A) until he has put all his enemies under his feet.^(B)

⁴² David himself declares in the Book of Psalms:

¹³ To which of the angels did God ever say,

Whose Son Is the Messiah?^(A)(B)

³⁵ While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts,^(C) he asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David?^{(D) 36} David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit,^(E) declared:

³⁷ David himself calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”

The large crowd^(G) listened to him with delight.

³ The Son is the radiance of God’s glory^(A) and the exact representation of his being,^(B) sustaining all things^(C) by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins,^(D) he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.^(E)

²⁰ he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead^(A) and seated him at his right hand^(B) in the heavenly realms,^{(C) 21} far above all rule and authority, power and dominion,^(D) and every name^(E) that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.^{(F) 22} And God placed all things under his feet^(G) and appointed him to be head^(H) over everything for the church,

² fixing our eyes on Jesus,^(A) the pioneer^(B) and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross,^(C) scorning its shame,^(D) and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.^(E)
