³⁵ The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold^(A) and for clothing.^{(B) 36} The Lord had made the Egyptians favorably disposed^(C) toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered^(D) the Egyptians.

²² Every woman is to ask her neighbor and any woman living in her house for articles of silver^(A) and gold^(B) and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder^(C) the Egyptians.”^(D)

¹⁷ The God of the people of Israel chose our ancestors; he made the people prosper during their stay in Egypt; with mighty power he led them out of that country;^(A)

¹⁴ But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out^(A) with great possessions.^(B)
