⁶ For the Lord giveth wisdom; out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

⁷ He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous; He is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

⁸ He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of His saints.

³ Let not mercy and truth forsake thee; bind them about thy neck, write them upon the tablet of thine heart.

⁴ So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

¹¹ My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, neither be weary of His correction;

²¹ For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He pondereth all his doings.

¹⁶ These six things doth the Lord hate, yea, seven are an abomination unto Him:

¹⁷ a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,

¹⁸ a heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

¹⁹ a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

³ The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

¹¹ Hell and destruction are the concern of the Lord; how much more then, the hearts of the children of men?

²⁹ The Lord is far from the wicked, but He heareth the prayer of the righteous.

16 The preparation of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord.

² All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but the Lord weigheth his spirit.

⁹ A man’s heart deviseth his way, but the Lord directeth his steps.
