²⁴ The person with understanding is always ·looking for [focused on] wisdom,
but the mind of a fool wanders ·everywhere [^Lto the ends of the earth].

¹⁵ The ·mind [heart] of a person with understanding gets knowledge;
the ·wise person listens to learn more [^Lear of the wise seeks knowledge].

⁸ Those who ·get wisdom [^Lacquire heart] ·do themselves a favor [^Llove themselves],
and those who ·love learning [guard understanding] will succeed.

⁵ People’s ·thoughts [advice; purpose] can be like a deep ·well [^Lwaters],
but someone with understanding can ·find the wisdom there [draw it out].

¹² The Lord has made both these things:
ears to hear and eyes to see.
