²⁵ The Lord will ·tear down [uproot] the proud person’s house,
but he will ·protect [establish] the widow’s ·property [boundaries].

⁵ The Lord ·hates [detests] those who are proud.
They will surely be punished.

¹⁹ It is better to be humble and ·be with those who suffer [with the needy]
than ·to share stolen property [dividing plunder/spoil] with the proud.

²⁴ People who act with stubborn pride
are called “proud,” “bragger,” and “mocker.”
