Proverbs 12-14 New King James Version (NKJV)The House of the Righteous Shall Stand12 Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, 2 A good man obtains favor from the Lord, 3 A man is not established by wickedness, 4 An[a] excellent wife is the crown of her husband, 5 The thoughts of the righteous are right, 7 The wicked are overthrown and are no more, 8 A man will be commended according to his wisdom, 9 Better is the one who is [b]slighted but has a servant, 10 A righteous man regards the life of his animal, 11 He who [c]tills his land will be satisfied with bread, 12 The wicked covet the catch of evil men, 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, 17 He who speaks truth declares righteousness, 23 A prudent man conceals knowledge, 24 The hand of the diligent will rule, 25 Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, 26 The righteous should choose his friends carefully, 27 The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting, 28 In the way of righteousness is life, Wisdom Loves Righteousness13 A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, 2 A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth, 4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; 5 A righteous man hates lying, 7 There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing; 8 The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, 9 The light of the righteous rejoices, 10 By pride comes nothing but strife, 11 Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, 12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, 13 He who despises the word will be destroyed, 15 Good understanding [g]gains favor, 17 A wicked messenger falls into trouble, 18 Poverty and shame will come to him who [h]disdains correction, 19 A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul, 20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, 21 Evil pursues sinners, 22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, 24 He who spares his rod hates his son, 25 The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul, The Ways of Life and Death14 The wise woman builds her house, 2 He who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord, 3 In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride, 4 Where no oxen are, the [l]trough is clean; 5 A faithful witness does not lie, 6 A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it, 9 Fools mock at [m]sin, 10 The heart knows its own bitterness, 11 The house of the wicked will be overthrown, 12 There is a way that seems right to a man, 13 Even in laughter the heart may sorrow, 14 The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways, 15 The simple believes every word, 20 The poor man is hated even by his own neighbor, 22 Do they not go astray who devise evil? 23 In all labor there is profit, 24 The crown of the wise is their riches, 25 A true witness [q]delivers souls, 26 In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, 28 In a multitude of people is a king’s honor, 29 He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, 30 A sound heart is life to the body, 31 He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, 32 The wicked is banished in his wickedness, 33 Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has understanding, 34 Righteousness exalts a nation, 35 The king’s favor is toward a wise servant, Footnotes:
