¹³Whoever ^(A)goes about slandering reveals secrets,
but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.

¹³A gossip goes around telling secrets,
but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.

⁶Many a man ^(A)proclaims his own steadfast love,
but ^(B)a faithful man who can find?

⁶Many will say they are loyal friends,
but who can find one who is truly reliable?

¹³Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest
is ^(A)a faithful messenger to those who send him;
he refreshes the soul of his masters.

¹³Trustworthy messengers refresh like snow in summer.
They revive the spirit of their employer.
