But the poor man does not even have to listen to a rebuke or threats [from the envious].

He who gives to the poor will never want,
But he who shuts his eyes [from their need] will have many curses.^(A)

The righteous man cares for the rights of the poor,
But the wicked man has no interest in such knowledge.^(A)

If a king faithfully and truthfully judges the poor,
His throne shall be established forever.
