¹⁴She sits at the door of her house,
on a seat at the highest point of the city,^(A)

²On ^(A)the heights beside the way,
at the crossroads she takes her stand;

²At the highest point along the way,
where the paths meet, she takes her stand;

²⁷What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on ^(A)the housetops.

²⁷What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.
