²⁸ Loyalty and faithfulness preserve the king,
    and his throne is upheld by righteousness.^[a](A)

¹⁴ If a king judges the poor with equity,
    his throne will be established forever.^(A)

¹² It is an abomination to kings to do evil,
    for the throne is established by righteousness.^(A)

⁶ By loyalty and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for,
    and by the fear of the Lord one avoids evil.^(A)

¹ I will sing of loyalty and of justice;
    to you, O Lord, I will sing.^(A)

¹ Vindicate me, O Lord,
    for I have walked in my integrity,
    and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.^(A)

⁷ For the king trusts in the Lord,
    and through the steadfast love of the Most High he shall not be moved.^(A)

⁵ then a throne shall be established in steadfast love
    in the tent of David,
    and on it shall sit in faithfulness
a ruler who seeks justice
    and is swift to do what is right.^(A)

⁷ May he be enthroned forever before God;
    appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!^(A)
