^16 (A)Better is a little with the fear of the Lord,
Than great treasure with trouble.

Than vast revenues without justice.

¹⁰ He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver;
Nor he who loves abundance, with increase.
This also is vanity.

¹¹ When goods increase,
They increase who eat them;
So what profit have the owners
Except to see them with their eyes?

¹² The sleep of a laboring man is sweet,
Whether he eats little or much;
But the abundance of the rich will not permit him to sleep.

^16 (A)A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.

⁶ Better is the poor who walks in his integrity
Than one perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

^22 (A)The blessing of the Lord makes one rich,
And He adds no sorrow with it.

¹⁰ Whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them.
I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure,
For my heart rejoiced in all my labor;
And ^(A)this was my ^[a]reward from all my labor.
¹¹ Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done
And on the labor in which I had toiled;
And indeed all was ^(B)vanity and grasping for the wind.
There was no profit under the sun.
