New American Standard Bible

26 I will also (A)laugh at your (B)disaster;
I will mock when your (C)dread comes,
27 When your dread comes like a storm
And your disaster comes like a (D)whirlwind,
When distress and anguish come upon you.
28 Then they will (E)call on me, but I will not answer;
They will (F)seek me diligently but will not find me,
29 Because they (G)hated knowledge
And did not choose the fear of the Lord.

26 I in turn will laugh(A) when disaster(B) strikes you;
    I will mock(C) when calamity overtakes you(D)—
27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
    when disaster(E) sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
    when distress and trouble overwhelm you.

28 “Then they will call to me but I will not answer;(F)
    they will look for me but will not find me,(G)
29 since they hated knowledge
    and did not choose to fear the Lord.(H)
