²³ I am torn between the two: I desire to depart^(A) and be with Christ,^(B) which is better by far;

⁸ We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.^(A)

⁵⁹ While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”^(A)

¹⁴ I answered, “Sir, you know.”

And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes^(A) and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.^{(B) 15} Therefore,

⁴³ Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”^(A)

¹³ Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord^(A) from now on.”

“Yes,” says the Spirit,^(B) “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”

⁶ For I am already being poured out like a drink offering,^(A) and the time for my departure is near.^(B)
