¹⁹ for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my salvation.^(A)

¹¹ as you also join in helping us by your prayers, so that many may give thanks on our^[a] behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.^(A)

²⁸ We know that all things work together^[a] for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.^(A)

⁶ And because you are children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our^[a] hearts, crying, “Abba!^[b] Father!”^(A)

⁹ But you are not in the flesh; you are in the Spirit,^[a] since the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.^(A)

⁷ When they had come opposite Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them;^(A)

¹¹ inquiring about the time and circumstances^[a] that the Spirit of Christ within them indicated when it testified in advance to the sufferings intended for Christ and the subsequent glory.^(A)

⁷ so that the genuineness of your faith—being more precious than gold that, though perishable, is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.^{(A) 8} Although you have not seen^[a] him, you love him, and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy,^{(B) 9} for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.^[b]

¹⁸ Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.^{(A) 19} Pray also for me, so that when I speak a message may be given to me to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,^[a](B)

¹⁷ For this reason I sent^[a] you Timothy, who is my beloved and trustworthy child in the Lord, to remind you of my ways in Christ Jesus, as I teach them everywhere in every church.
