⁶ Now there were certain men who were ^(A)defiled by a human corpse, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day; ^(B)and they came before Moses and Aaron that day.

² And they stood before Moses, before Eleazar the priest, and before the leaders and all the congregation, by the doorway of the tabernacle of meeting, saying:

¹⁵ And Moses said to his father-in-law, “Because ^(A)the people come to me to inquire of God.

^16 (A)Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain by a sword or who has died, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.

^11 (A)‘He who touches the dead ^[a]body of anyone shall be unclean seven days.

² “Command the children of Israel that they put out of the camp every ^(A)leper, everyone who has a ^(B)discharge, and whoever becomes ^(C)defiled ^[a]by a corpse.

In Pilate’s Court^(A)

^28 (B)Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. ^(C)But they themselves did not go into the ^[a]Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover.

¹⁸ A clean person shall take ^(A)hyssop and dip it in the water, sprinkle it on the tent, on all the vessels, on the persons who were there, or on the one who touched a bone, the slain, the dead, or a grave.

²⁶ So they judged the people at all times; the ^(A)hard^[a] cases they brought to Moses, but they judged every small case themselves.

¹⁹ Listen now to my voice; I will give you ^[a]counsel, and God will be with you: Stand ^(A)before God for the people, so that you may ^(B)bring the difficulties to God.
