Balak Sends for Balaam

22 Then ^(A)the children of Israel moved, and camped in the plains of Moab on the side of the Jordan across from Jericho.

¹⁶ that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away ^[a]at Adam, the city that is beside ^(A)Zaretan. So the waters that went down ^(B)into the Sea of the Arabah, ^(C)the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho.

⁸ And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab ^(A)thirty days. So the days of weeping and mourning for Moses ended.

Moses Dies on Mount Nebo

34 Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab ^(A)to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is across from Jericho. And the Lord showed him all the land of Gilead as far as Dan,

⁸ “And at that time we took the ^(A)land from the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were on this side of the Jordan, from the River Arnon to Mount ^(B)Hermon

⁵ On this side of the Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses began to explain this law, saying,

¹³ These are the commandments and the judgments which the Lord commanded the children of Israel by the hand of Moses ^(A)in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho.

¹⁵ The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan, across from Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise.”

⁴⁸ They departed from the mountains of Abarim and ^(A)camped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho. ⁴⁹ They camped by the Jordan, from Beth Jesimoth as far as the ^(B)Abel Acacia Grove^[a] in the plains of Moab.

Instructions for the Conquest of Canaan

⁵⁰ Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho, saying,

¹⁹ For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan and beyond, ^(A)because our inheritance has fallen to us on this eastern side of the Jordan.”
