New International Version
Korah, Dathan and Abiram
16 Korah(A) son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and certain Reubenites—Dathan and Abiram(B), sons of Eliab,(C) and On son of Peleth—became insolent[a] 2 and rose up against Moses.(D) With them were 250 Israelite men, well-known community leaders who had been appointed members of the council.(E) 3 They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron(F) and said to them, “You have gone too far! The whole community is holy,(G) every one of them, and the Lord is with them.(H) Why then do you set yourselves above the Lord’s assembly?”(I)
4 When Moses heard this, he fell facedown.(J) 5 Then he said to Korah and all his followers: “In the morning the Lord will show who belongs to him and who is holy,(K) and he will have that person come near him.(L) The man he chooses(M) he will cause to come near him. 6 You, Korah, and all your followers(N) are to do this: Take censers(O) 7 and tomorrow put burning coals(P) and incense(Q) in them before the Lord. The man the Lord chooses(R) will be the one who is holy.(S) You Levites have gone too far!”

Psalm 106:25-48
New International Version
25 They grumbled(A) in their tents
and did not obey the Lord.
26 So he swore(B) to them with uplifted hand
that he would make them fall in the wilderness,(C)
27 make their descendants fall among the nations
and scatter(D) them throughout the lands.
28 They yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor(E)
and ate sacrifices offered to lifeless gods;
29 they aroused the Lord’s anger(F) by their wicked deeds,(G)
and a plague(H) broke out among them.
30 But Phinehas(I) stood up and intervened,
and the plague was checked.(J)
31 This was credited to him(K) as righteousness
for endless generations(L) to come.
32 By the waters of Meribah(M) they angered the Lord,
and trouble came to Moses because of them;
33 for they rebelled(N) against the Spirit(O) of God,
and rash words came from Moses’ lips.[a](P)
34 They did not destroy(Q) the peoples
as the Lord had commanded(R) them,
35 but they mingled(S) with the nations
and adopted their customs.
36 They worshiped their idols,(T)
which became a snare(U) to them.
37 They sacrificed their sons(V)
and their daughters to false gods.(W)
38 They shed innocent blood,
the blood of their sons(X) and daughters,
whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan,
and the land was desecrated by their blood.
39 They defiled themselves(Y) by what they did;
by their deeds they prostituted(Z) themselves.
40 Therefore the Lord was angry(AA) with his people
and abhorred his inheritance.(AB)
41 He gave them into the hands(AC) of the nations,
and their foes ruled over them.
42 Their enemies oppressed(AD) them
and subjected them to their power.
43 Many times he delivered them,(AE)
but they were bent on rebellion(AF)
and they wasted away in their sin.
44 Yet he took note of their distress
when he heard their cry;(AG)
45 for their sake he remembered his covenant(AH)
and out of his great love(AI) he relented.(AJ)
46 He caused all who held them captive
to show them mercy.(AK)
47 Save us,(AL) Lord our God,
and gather us(AM) from the nations,
that we may give thanks(AN) to your holy name(AO)
and glory in your praise.
48 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Let all the people say, “Amen!”(AP)
Praise the Lord.
