²¹ So they went up and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, near Lebo-hamath.

³⁶ They set out from Ezion-geber and camped in the wilderness of Zin (that is, Kadesh).^(A)

The Waters of Meribah

20 The Israelites, the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Zin in the first month, and the people stayed in Kadesh. Miriam died there and was buried there.^(A)

¹⁴ because you rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin when the congregation quarreled with me.^[a] You did not show my holiness before their eyes at the waters.” (These are the waters of Meribath-kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)^(A)

The Territory of Judah

15 The lot for the tribe of the people of Judah according to their families reached southward to the boundary of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin at the farthest south.^(A)

⁵ and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the east, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo-hamath,

⁹ When King Toi of Hamath heard that David had defeated the whole army of Hadadezer,

⁵¹ because both of you broke faith with me among the Israelites at the waters of Meribath-kadesh in the wilderness of Zin, by failing to maintain my holiness among the Israelites.^(A)

³ your south sector shall extend from the wilderness of Zin along the side of Edom. Your southern boundary shall begin from the end of the Dead Sea^[a] on the east;^{(A) 4} your boundary shall turn south of the ascent of Akrabbim and cross to Zin, and its outer limit shall be south of Kadesh-barnea; then it shall go on to Hazar-addar and cross to Azmon;
