Nehemiah 11:25-36
New English Translation
25 As for the settlements with their fields, some of the people of Judah settled in Kiriath Arba and its neighboring villages,[a] in Dibon and its villages, in Jekabzeel and its settlements, 26 in Jeshua, in Moladah, in Beth Pelet, 27 in Hazar Shual, in Beer Sheba and its villages, 28 in Ziklag, in Meconah and its villages, 29 in En Rimmon, in Zorah, in Jarmuth, 30 Zanoah, Adullam and their settlements, in Lachish and its fields, and in Azekah and its villages. So they were encamped from Beer Sheba to the Valley of Hinnom.
31 Some of the descendants of[b] Benjamin settled in Geba,[c] Micmash, Aija, Bethel and its villages, 32 in Anathoth, Nob, and Ananiah, 33 in Hazor, Ramah, and Gittaim, 34 in Hadid, Zeboyim, and Neballat, 35 in Lod, Ono, and[d] the Valley of the Craftsmen.[e] 36 Some of the Judean divisions of the Levites settled in Benjamin.

- Nehemiah 11:31 tc The translation reads with a few medieval Hebrew mss and the Syriac Peshitta וּמִבְּנֵי (umibbene, “and some of the descendants of”; cf. NLT) rather than the MT reading וּבְנֵי (uvene, “and the sons of”).
- Nehemiah 11:31 tc Heb “from Geba.” It is preferable to delete the preposition “from” read by the MT.
- Nehemiah 11:35 tc The translation reads וְגֵי (vegey, “and the valley”) rather than the MT reading גֵּי (gey, “the valley”). The original vav (ו) probably dropped out accidentally due to haplography with the final vav on the immediately preceding word.
- Nehemiah 11:35 tn Heb “Ge-harashim,” which could be left untranslated as a place name.

25 Now as for the villages with their fields, some of the sons of Judah lived in (A)Kiriath-arba and its [a]towns, in (B)Dibon and its [b]towns, and in Jekabzeel and its villages, 26 and in Jeshua, in Moladah, and Beth-pelet, 27 and in Hazar-shual, in Beersheba and its towns, 28 and in Ziklag, in Meconah and in its towns, 29 and in En-rimmon, in Zorah, and in Jarmuth, 30 Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and its fields, Azekah and its towns. So they camped from Beersheba as far as the Valley of Hinnom. 31 The sons of Benjamin also lived from Geba onward, at Michmash and Aija, at Bethel and its towns, 32 at Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah, 33 Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim, 34 Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat, 35 Lod, and Ono, the Valley of Craftsmen. 36 And from the Levites, some divisions in Judah belonged to Benjamin.
