²⁸ “But as soon as they were at rest, they again did what was evil in your sight.^(A) Then you abandoned them to the hand of their enemies so that they ruled over them. And when they cried out to you again, you heard from heaven, and in your compassion^(B) you delivered them^(C) time after time.

³⁹ then hear^(A) from heaven, your dwelling place. Forgive^(B) and act; deal with everyone according to all they do, since you know^(C) their hearts (for you alone know every human heart),

³³ “When your people Israel have been defeated^(A) by an enemy because they have sinned^(B) against you, and when they turn back to you and give praise to your name, praying and making supplication to you in this temple,^{(C) 34} then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your people Israel and bring them back to the land you gave to their ancestors.
