Nahum 3:8-11

8 Are you better than [a](A)No-amon,
Which sits along the (B)waters of the Nile,
With water surrounding her,
Whose rampart was [b]the sea,
Whose wall consisted of [c]the sea?
9 [d](C)Ethiopia was her might,
And Egypt too, without end.
(D)Put and (E)Lubim were among [e]her helpers.
10 Yet she (F)became an exile;
She went into captivity;
Also her (G)infants were dashed to pieces
(H)At the head of every street;
They (I)cast lots for her honorable men,
And all her great men were bound with fetters.
11 You too will become (J)drunk;
You will be (K)hidden.
You too will search for a strong defense from the enemy.

Nineveh Will Suffer the Same Fate She Inflicted on Thebes
8 Are you better than Thebes?[a]
She who sits at the Nile, surrounded by her waters,
her rampart was the sea and water was her wall.
9 Cush was her strength, Egypt without end;
Put and Libya were among your allies.[b]
10 Yet she went into captivity as an exile;
her children were dashed to pieces at the head of the streets;
they cast lots for all of her nobles;
all of her dignitaries were bound with chains.
11 You also will behave like a drunkard;
You also will hide yourself;
You also will seek refuge from the enemy.
