⁷ “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”^(A)

²⁹ “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses^(A) and the Prophets;^(B) let them listen to them.’

²⁷ And beginning with Moses^(A) and all the Prophets,^(B) he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.^(C)

¹⁷ For the law was given through Moses;^(A) grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.^(B)

¹⁹ Has not Moses given you the law?^(A) Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?”^(B)

²² For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.^(A)

²³ They arranged to meet Paul on a certain day, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying. He witnessed to them from morning till evening, explaining about the kingdom of God,^(A) and from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets^(B) he tried to persuade them about Jesus.^(C)

⁵ Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”^[a](A)
