² And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for ^(A)an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away ^(B)the stone, and sat upon it.

⁵ And ^(A)entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting at the right, wearing a white robe; and they ^(B)were amazed.

⁴ While they were perplexed about this, behold, ^(A)two men suddenly ^(B)stood near them in gleaming clothing;

The Empty Tomb

20 ^(A)Now on the first day of the week ^(B)Mary Magdalene *came early to the tomb, while it was still dark, and *saw ^(C)the stone already removed from the tomb. ² So she *ran and *came to Simon Peter and to the other ^(D)disciple whom Jesus loved, and *said to them, “^(E)They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we do not know where they have put Him.”

¹² and she *saw ^(A)two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying.
