Peter Denies Jesus

^69 (A)Now Peter was sitting outside ^(B)in the courtyard. And a servant girl came up to him and said, “You also were with Jesus the Galilean.” ⁷⁰ But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you mean.” ⁷¹ And when he went out to the entrance, another servant girl saw him, and she said to the bystanders, “This man was with Jesus ^(C)of Nazareth.” ⁷² And again he denied it with an oath: “I do not know the man.”

Paul Opposes Peter

¹¹ But ^(A)when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him ^(B)to his face, because he stood condemned. ¹² For before certain men came from James, ^(C)he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing ^(D)the circumcision party.^{[a] 13} And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy. ¹⁴ But when I saw that their ^(E)conduct was not in step with ^(F)the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas ^(G)before them all, “If you, though a Jew, ^(H)live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?”

³ Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead?” He answered him, “I am as you are, my people as your people. We will be with you in the war.”

² But ^(A)Jehu the son of ^(B)Hanani ^(C)the seer went out to meet him and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you ^(D)help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, ^(E)wrath has gone out against you from the Lord.
