The Lord’s Prayer

(A)Pray, then, in this way:

‘Our Father, who is in heaven,
[a]Hallowed be Your name.
10 [b](B)Your kingdom come.
(C)Your will be done,
[c]On earth as it is in heaven.
11 (D)Give us this day [d]our daily bread.
12 And (E)forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation, but (F)deliver us from [e](G)evil.[f]

15 but [a]sanctify (A)Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready (B)to make a [b]defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the (C)hope that is in you, but (D)with gentleness and (E)respect; 16 [c]and keep a (F)good conscience so that in the thing in which (G)you are slandered, those who disparage your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame. 17 For (H)it is better, (I)if [d]God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong. 18 For (J)Christ also [e]suffered for sins (K)once for all time, the just for the unjust, so that He might (L)bring us to God, having been put to death (M)in the flesh, but made alive (N)in the [f]spirit; 19 in [g]which He also went and made proclamation to the spirits in prison, 20 who once were disobedient when the (O)patience of God (P)kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of (Q)the ark, in which a few, that is, (R)eight (S)persons, were brought safely through the water. 21 (T)Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—(U)not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God [h]for a (V)good conscience—through (W)the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 (X)who is at the right hand of God, (Y)having gone into heaven, (Z)after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.

18 I pray that (A)the eyes of your heart [a]may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the (B)hope of His (C)calling, what are (D)the riches of the glory of (E)His inheritance in (F)the [b]saints, 19 and what is the [c]boundless greatness of His power toward us who believe. (G)These are in accordance with the working of the (H)strength of His might 20 which He brought about in Christ, when He (I)raised Him from the dead and (J)seated Him at His right hand in (K)the heavenly places, 21 far above (L)all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every (M)name that is named, not only in (N)this age but also in the one to come. 22 And He (O)put all things in subjection under His feet, and made Him (P)head over all things to the church, 23 which is His (Q)body, the (R)fullness of Him who (S)fills (T)all in all.

Made Alive in Christ

And [d]you [e]were (U)dead [f]in your offenses and sins, in which you (V)previously walked according to the [g]course of (W)this world, according to (X)the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in (Y)the [h]sons of disobedience. Among them [i]we too all (Z)previously lived in (AA)the lusts of our flesh, [j]indulging the desires of the flesh and of the [k]mind, and were (AB)by nature (AC)children of wrath, (AD)just as the rest. But God, being (AE)rich in mercy, because of (AF)His great love with which He loved us, even when we were (AG)dead [l]in our wrongdoings, made us alive together [m]with Christ ((AH)by grace you have been saved), and (AI)raised us up with Him, and (AJ)seated us with Him in (AK)the heavenly places in (AL)Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the [n]boundless (AM)riches of His grace in (AN)kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

22 “Men of Israel, listen to these words: (A)Jesus the Nazarene, (B)a Man [a]attested to you by God with [b]miracles and (C)wonders and [c]signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— 23 this Man, delivered over by the (D)predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, (E)you nailed to a cross by the hands of [d]godless men and put Him to death. 24 [e]But (F)God raised Him from the dead, putting an end to the [f]agony of death, since it (G)was impossible for Him to be held [g]in its power.

so that on the other hand, you should rather (A)forgive and comfort him, otherwise such a person might be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love for him. For to this end (B)I also wrote, so that I might [a](C)put you to the test, whether you are (D)obedient in all things. 10 But one whom you forgive anything, I also forgive; for indeed what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, I did so for your sakes (E)in the presence of Christ, 11 so that no advantage would be taken of us by (F)Satan, for (G)we are not ignorant of his schemes.
