Matthew 27:22-24

²² Pilate *said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus ^(A)who is called Christ?” They all *said, “^[a]Crucify Him!” ²³ But he said, “Why, what evil has He done?” Yet they kept shouting all the more, saying, “^[b]Crucify Him!”

²⁴ Now when Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that ^(B)a riot was starting, he took water and ^(C)washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of ^(D)this Man’s blood; ^(E)you yourselves shall see.”
