²⁷ For as lightning^(A) that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming^(B) of the Son of Man.^(C)

³⁰ “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth^[a] will mourn^(A) when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven,^(B) with power and great glory.^[b]

³⁷ As it was in the days of Noah,^(A) so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

³⁹ and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.^(A)

⁴⁸ But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’

²⁷ Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

⁶⁴ “You have said so,”^(A) Jesus replied. “But I say to all of you: From now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One^(B) and coming on the clouds of heaven.”^[a](C)
