Matthew 23:23-28

23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. It is these you ought to have practiced without neglecting the others. 24 You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel!
25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup,[a] so that the outside also may become clean.
27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which on the outside look beautiful, but inside they are full of the bones of the dead and of all kinds of filth. 28 So you also on the outside look righteous to others, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

23 Guai a voi, scribi e farisei ipocriti, perché pagate la decima della menta, dell’aneto e del comino e trascurate le cose più importanti della legge: il giudizio, la misericordia e la fede. Queste sono le cose che bisognava fare, senza tralasciare le altre. 24 Guide cieche, che filtrate il moscerino[a] e inghiottite il cammello!
25 Guai a voi, scribi e farisei ipocriti, perché pulite l’esterno del bicchiere e del piatto, mentre dentro sono pieni di rapina e d’intemperanza[b]. 26 Fariseo cieco, pulisci prima l’interno del bicchiere [e del piatto], affinché anche l’esterno diventi pulito.
27 Guai a voi, scribi e farisei ipocriti, perché siete simili a sepolcri imbiancati, che appaiono belli di fuori, ma dentro sono pieni d’ossa di morti e d’ogni immondizia. 28 Così anche voi, di fuori sembrate giusti alla gente, ma dentro siete pieni d’ipocrisia e d’iniquità.

23 Wehe euch, ihr Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer, ihr Heuchler, dass ihr die Minze und den Anis und den Kümmel verzehntet und das Wichtigere im Gesetz vernachlässigt, nämlich das Recht[a] und das Erbarmen und den Glauben! Dieses sollte man tun und jenes nicht lassen.
24 Ihr blinden Führer, die ihr die Mücke aussiebt, das Kamel aber verschluckt!
25 Wehe euch, ihr Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer, ihr Heuchler, dass ihr das Äußere des Bechers und der Schüssel reinigt, inwendig aber sind sie voller Raub und Unmäßigkeit!
26 Du blinder Pharisäer, reinige zuerst das Inwendige des Bechers und der Schüssel, damit auch ihr Äußeres rein werde!
27 Wehe euch, ihr Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer, ihr Heuchler, dass ihr getünchten Gräbern[b] gleicht, die äußerlich zwar schön scheinen, inwendig aber voller Totengebeine und aller Unreinheit sind!

Mert mindenből tizedet adtok, még a mentából, kaporból és köményből[a] is, de elhanyagoljátok ami a Törvény szerint nehezebb: igazságosan ítélni, könyörületet gyakorolni és hűségesen élni. Pedig ezeket feltétlenül meg kell tenni, és azokat sem kell elhanyagolni! 24 Vak vezetők, kiszűritek a szúnyogot, de lenyelitek a tevét![b]
25 Jaj nektek, képmutató törvénytanítók és farizeusok! Azt gondoljátok, hogy nagyon fontos a testet kívülről lemosni. Mert ti csak a pohár és edény külsejét tisztogatjátok, belül azonban tele van mindenféle kapzsisággal és önzéssel! 26 Vak farizeus, először tisztítsd meg előbb a pohár tartalmát, hogy azután a külseje is tiszta lehessen!
27 Jaj nektek, képmutató törvénytanítók és farizeusok! Olyanok vagytok, mint a fehérre meszelt sírok, amelyek kívülről szépnek látszanak, belül azonban tele vannak a halottak csontjaival és tisztátalansággal.[c] 28 Ugyanígy ti is csak kívülről, az emberek szemében látszotok igazságosnak, de belül tele vagytok képmutatással és törvényszegéssel.

Vous vous acquittez de la dîme sur la menthe, l’anis et le cumin, mais vous laissez de côté ce qu’il y a de plus important dans la Loi, c’est-à-dire la justice, la compassion et la fidélité[a]. Voilà ce qu’il fallait pratiquer, sans négliger le reste.
24 Guides aveugles que vous êtes ! Vous filtrez vos boissons pour éliminer le moindre moucheron, mais vous avalez le chameau tout entier.
25 Malheur à vous, spécialistes de la Loi et pharisiens hypocrites ! Vous nettoyez soigneusement l’extérieur de vos coupes et de vos assiettes, mais vous les remplissez du produit de vos vols et de vos désirs incontrôlés. 26 Pharisien aveugle, commence donc par purifier l’intérieur de la coupe et de l’assiette, alors l’extérieur sera pur.
27 Malheur à vous, spécialistes de la Loi et pharisiens hypocrites ! Vous êtes comme ces tombeaux crépis de blanc[b], qui sont beaux au-dehors. Mais à l’intérieur, il n’y a qu’ossements de cadavres et pourriture. 28 Vous de même, à l’extérieur, vous avez l’air d’être justes aux yeux des hommes, mais, à l’intérieur, il n’y a qu’hypocrisie et désobéissance à Dieu.
