Jesus Foretells His Death

^21 (A)From that time ^[a]Jesus began to ^[b]point out to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go to Jerusalem and to ^(B)suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised up on the third day.

^31 (A)And He began to teach them that ^(B)the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise from the dead.

¹² And He said to them, “Elijah does come first and he restores all things. And yet how is it written of ^(A)the Son of Man that ^(B)He will suffer many things and be treated with contempt?
