The Plot to Kill Jesus(A)

26 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, that He said to His disciples, (B)“You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”

(C)Then the chief priests, [a]the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, and (D)plotted to take Jesus by [b]trickery and kill Him. But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the (E)people.”

Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus(A)

14 (B)Then one of the twelve, called (C)Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests 15 and said, (D)“What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver. 16 So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.

(A)Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the (B)twelve. So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. And they were glad, and (C)agreed to give him money. So he promised and sought opportunity to (D)betray Him to them in the absence of the multitude.

37 (A)And in the daytime He was teaching in the temple, but (B)at night He went out and stayed on the mountain called Olivet. 38 Then early in the morning all the people came to Him in the temple to hear Him.

Who Has Believed Our Report?

37 But although He had done so many (A)signs before them, they did not believe in Him, 38 that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke:

(B)“Lord, who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

39 Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again:

40 “He(C) has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts,
(D)Lest they should see with their eyes,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.”

41 (E)These things Isaiah said [a]when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.

Walk in the Light

42 Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but (F)because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; 43 (G)for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

44 Then Jesus cried out and said, (H)“He who believes in Me, (I)believes not in Me (J)but in Him who sent Me. 45 And (K)he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. 46 (L)I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if anyone hears My words and does not [b]believe, (M)I do not judge him; for (N)I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 (O)He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—(P)the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. 49 For (Q)I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, (R)what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I (S)speak.”

Jesus and His Disciples Prepare the Passover

(A)Then came the Day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover must be [a]killed. And He sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”

So they said to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare?”

10 And He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house which he enters. 11 Then you shall say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?” ’ 12 Then he will show you a large, furnished upper room; there make ready.”

13 So they went and (B)found it just as He had said to them, and they prepared the Passover.
